Deepika Pallikal, an Indian squash player was born on September 21, 1991 in Chennai, India. She became first Indian woman to rank into top 10 in the WSA ranking. She was born to father Sanjiv and mother Susan Pallikal. She get her training from ICL-TNSRA Academy at Chennai under the supervision of Cyrus Poncha and Major S. Maniam. She has completed her studies from Ethiraj College in English department. When she was in her sixth standard she played her first tournament in London. In 2011, she was crowned with title 3 WISPA Tour. She got her first WISPA title by winning the Orange Country Open in Irvine, California. She got her second WISPA title in United States with another tour. She notched her third WISPA title in Hong Kong in December 2011 at Crocodile Challenge Cup and ranked her at no 17. She is the first Indian to reach the summit clash of a Silver event in the final Tournament of Champions squash meet in New York on January 2012. She was successful to rank at number five in the Women’s World Team Squash Championship in 2012. She was honored with Arjuna Award in 2012 which is the India's second highest sports honor to be given to a good player.
