The Kawasaki Ninja family has grown up in numbers since its first superbike launch in India. Even then, to stay ahead in the market, Kawasaki needs something new to the line-up and that for sure would be the introduction of a new segment and updating the former ones. The new additions for this year would be the single cylinder Z250 SL for the entry level bikers, Vulcan S for the cruiser bike lovers and ZX-6R for those who believe ZX-10R is more than required.
The currently selling Z250 is really an awesome ride but lacks the value for money factor as its price pinches a lot of Kawasaki lovers. The new expected addition would be a single cylinder variant of the bike, looking lean and more aggressive than its existing partner.
With its low weight and higher power output, the Z250 SL would definitely rock the 250 cc segment and claim its winning trophy even before the launch. Its 180 mm of high ground clearance will make it India friendly and the 27.62 BHP, 22.6 NM power figures with a six speed transmission would rue the streets. It comes with 785 mm of seat height, making it good for short riders also.
Disc brakes measuring 290 mm at the front and 220 mm at the rear would command the stopping power of the bike. It is expected with a price tag of INR 1,75,000-2,00,000 and keeping it as low as possible would create a serious threat to the KTM ruler of the segment.
Those who love Kawasaki but bought a Harley would always regret for their choice as the second addition would be a cruiser styled Vulcan S. The bike comes with a sport cruiser styling, low seat height of 705 mm and a powerful 649 cc twin cylinder engine producing 61 BHP and 63 NM of torque.
The same motor comes in the Ninja 650 and ER-6N, proving its worth under a low rider also. It would come with a single disc brake for each wheel, measuring 300 mm at the front and 250 mm at the rear. ABS would accompany the brakes, making the bike more safe and rider friendly.
The 228 kg Vulcan S would command some serious respect as Kawasaki's Lime Green shade suits it the most. It is expected with a price tag of INR 6,00,000-7,00,000.
For those who believe in speed would love to know that the middle weight serious racing category also expects a new member. The Kawasaki ZX-6R, as the name states is focused on performance and only performance.
It comes with a 4-cylinder, 636 cc engine, producing a mind blowing 129 BHP and 71 NM of torque. The bike inherits the ZX series DNA and comes with a lightweight design for better performance. Braking power comes from twin 310 mm disc brakes at the front and a single 220 mm disc brake at the rear.
The expected price for this super machine is INR 12,00,000-13,00,000 which again needs to be kept low at it may interfere in the other bike manufacturer's higher segment bikes.
Kawasaki has always focused on quality and precision. The same trend will continue to serve the riders and make their wished true by introducing everything which is possible in the automotive world.
