Yamaha RX 135 can be clearly seen as an upgraded version of Yamaha RX 100 which in itself has a legacy to speak of. Yamaha RX 135 5-speed from the RX series is a classic performer from the Japanese motor company. It is to date known for its high performance in its segment Its high performance can be credited to its 132cc air cooled twin stroke engine. The bike has an all chrome finish which compliments its design. Yamaha offered its RX135 in Black Gold, Candy Maroon and Riviera Green options. It was priced at INR 40,000 before being discontinued.
RX 135 comes with a standard 5 speed transmission with the engine giving out a maximum power of 14 Bhp @ 7500 rpm and a torque of 12.25 Nm @ 7000 rpm. The bike comes with 130 mm drum brakes both in the front and on the rear. It comes with a fuel tank capacity of 10.5 litres and it goes to a top speed of 110 kmph. The bike is a light weight performer with a wet weight of 116 kgs delivering a mileage of 35-40 kmpl.
This bike compared to the RX 100 was high on performance but it lacked safety. To cover up the lack, Yamaha later came with Yamaha RXZ 135 with disc brakes. The bike still has a cult following from the people who wanted it in the 90s and this model still has a very good demand in the second hand market. In the 135cc segment Yamaha RX 135 can also be compared to Bajaj Pulsar 135. Performance wise both the bikes fall head to head but have different engines.
