TVS Suzuki Shogun was an entry level model in the 110cc segment. The bike came to India as a collaboration between TVS and Suzuki. The bike has some striking resemblance to the hugely popular Hero Honda Splendor. This is clearly a mileage bike meant to fit in the budget of common man. TVS tries to introduce some good performance with reliability, trying to repeat the success of it's Hero Honda competitor. This was the the only 2 stroke bike of its time. But its production in India was discontinued after a while due to pollution norms. However, it never fails to charm the users who had first have had an experience with this bike.
The bike comes with a 108.2cc 1-cylinder engine which produces a maximum power of 14 bhp @ 8500 rpm and gives a maximum torque of 11.4 Nm @ 8250 rpm. Given the bike's size, these numbers are fairly impressive in the entry level segment. The bike runs on a standard 4 speed manual transmission. The bike comes with a 12 litres fuel tank, weighing to 114 kilograms. The bike has a turning circle of 1.8 m.
The bike is a high performer which goes to a top speed of up to 105 kmph. It has also gained quite a following amongst people over the years. In this segment this comes as a close call to Yamaha RX 100 Its high performance can be credited to a 2 stroke engine. However, this commute ran on an old technology which proved to be noisy and gave out more smoke than permissible limits. The bike comes with front and rear drum brakes, oil damped suspension and shock absorbers. This bike is now solely sold in the used two wheeler segment in this date.
