Royal Enfield Thunderbird 350 is the most effectively placed motorcycle in the lineup, carrying exclusive features like a front projector headlight, rear disc brake, thicker front telescopic forks and cruiser friendly 20 liter fuel tank.
The 346cc, single cylinder engine on the motorcycle is good for 19.8 BHP at 5250 rpm and 28 Nm of torque at 4000 rpm. The engine comes mated to a 5-speed gearbox. Thunderbird 350 weighs quite high at 195 kg while the rear disc brake measures 240mm. The huge front wheel measures 19 inch while rear comes with 18 inch unit.
UM Renegade Commando, on the other hand, carries a 279.5 cc, single cylinder fuel injected engine producing 24.8 BHP at 8500 rpm and 23 Nm at 7000 rpm. It weighs 179 kg and claims a top speed of 125 kmph. It can be bought for INR 1.76 lakh while Royal Enfield Thunderbird 350 gets a price tag of INR 1.48 lakh. Both the prices are ex-showroom Delhi.
Renegade Commando gets an 18 liter fuel tank. Thunderbird 350 comes out as a better option when compared to UM Renegade as it lacks the features available in the Royal Enfield motorcycle. However, Commando's claimed ground clearance of 200 mm on the official website seems fishy as they first claimed 150 mm at the time of its launch and it actually looks 150 mm only.
