Yamaha recently launched the FZ250 in India for INR 1,19,500 (ex-showroom Delhi). The naked street fighter stands equally between the entry level TVS Apache RTR 200 and high spec KTM 200 Duke. It uses an oil+air cooled, 249 cc, single cylinder engine that produces 20.69 BHP at 8000 rpm and 20 Nm of torque at 6000 rpm. The engine comes mated to a 5-speed gearbox while claims a wet weight of 148 kg. Yamaha added features like fuel injection and LED headlight, making it the best motorcycle at its price. It shares most of its part with Yamaha FZ series that was already on sale in India.

KTM 200 Duke is powered by a 199.5 cc, single cylinder liquid-cooled engine producing 24.6 BHP at 10,000 rpm and 19.2 Nm at 8000 rpm. The motorcycle weighs just 136 kg and claims a top speed of 138 kmph. Yamaha provides a decent seat height of 795 mm while the rider on the Duke has to adjust with the high 810 mm of seat height. KTM 200 Duke uses a 6-speed gearbox and uses premium equipment like upside down front forks. KTM 200 Duke has a price tag of INR 1.43 lakh and should only be bought if the rider loves performance more than comfort of everyday relaxed riding.
