Quick Comparison: Bajaj Pulsar RS200 vs. Yamaha FZ25

Bajaj Pulsar RS200 and Yamaha FZ25 are two different species of Indian motorcycling ecosystem but the thing that ties them together is the price segment in which both of them fall. Bajaj Pulsar RS200, despite of carrying a smaller 199.5cc engine, is placed higher than the 249cc FZ25. The flagship Pulsar costs INR 1,21,200 while Yamaha FZ25 can be had for INR 1,19,500. All the prices mentioned are ex-showroom Delhi.
Yamaha FZ25 produces just 20.69 BHP at 8,000 rpm while the Pulsar RS200 is good for 24.2 BHP at 9,750 rpm. On the other hand, the Pulsar produces just 18.6 Nm at 8,000 rpm while Yamaha provides 20 Nm of solid torque at 6,000 rpm only. This makes the Yamaha much more powerful in real world terms. Not just that, the 165 kg weight of Pulsar RS200 is 17 kg higher than the lightweight Yamaha FZ25 with just 148 kg on the scale.
Yamaha FZ25 carries LED lights while Pulsar comes with twin halogen projectors. The former is made for relaxed city riding with high torque for easy acceleration while the latter is a red-line friendly machine with loads of speed on its throttle. Yamaha offers the FZ25 in three shades namely Ballistic Blue, Warrior White and Knight Black while Pulsar RS200 can be bought in Yellow, Demon Black and Red shade in India.
