Kawasaki Ninja 400 was recently launched in India for INR 4.69 lakh (ex-showroom). The price was biggest shock that one could get in 2018 as Kawasaki Z650, the much bigger twin cylinder bike, is priced at just INR 4.99 lakh. Even the faired variant called Ninja 650 is INR 80,000 above this new price.

It still remains a mystery from Kawasaki that why they priced this bike at such a high point. It uses a 399cc, twin cylinder engine producing 45 HP at 10,000 rpm and 38 Nm at 8,000 rpm. The engine comes mated to a six speed gearbox.

Kawasaki Z650, on the other hand, is a powerful street fighter with 649cc, twin cylinder engine producing 68 HP at 8,000 rpm and 65.7 Nm at 6,500 rpm. The values are offered at a much lower point and thus, one will not need to rev this one as hard as Ninja 400.

The power values are simply amazing for a bike weighing just 190 kg. Ninja 400 gets lightweight superbike benefits as it weighs just 173 kg but difference in power values simply tag it as the most powerful option for its price. Choosing 650 over Ninja 400 is a genuine move.
