Hero Achiever 150 vs. Bajaj V15 vs. Yamaha SZ-RR V2.0 vs. Honda Unicorn 150

Indian sport commuter segment now claims another opponent with the entry of the all new Achiever from Hero MotoCorp. The growth of 150 cc commuter segment sales has grown at a good rate, thanks to the growing interest of Indian buyers toward performance along with the mileage. Apart from being mileage obsessed, young Indian riders are now equally focusing on the looks and the performance of their motorcycles.

The segment consists of recently launched Hero Achiever, the popular Bajaj V15, dashing Yamaha SZ-RR v2.0 and Honda's evergreen CB Unicorn 150. There are others too but these 4 together make the most value for money and quality products of their segment.

Hero's Achiever is powered by a 149.1cc, single cylinder engine with auto start stop i3S technology. It produces 13.4 BHP and 12.8 Nm of torque and weighs just 139 kg. The technology makes it more fuel efficient while its power values are the most impressive within its segment. It comes within a price range of INR 61,800-62,800 (ex-showroom Delhi).

The closest competitor is the Bajaj V15, powered by a 149.5 cc engine producing 11.83 Bhp and a healthy 13 Nm of torque. It comes with low seat height and come with a price tag of INR 62,000. It has a unique design language, making it clearly visible among others. It uses a cruiser inspired 16 inch 120/80 section wheel at the rear.

The other two motorcycles of its this segment are Yamaha SZ-RR v2.0 and Honda Unicorn 150. Both have been priced with a premium of around INR 4,000-6,000 from the others. Yamaha feature a much improved instrument console than others while the Honda Unicorn uses a mono-shock suspension at the rear. Yamaha SZ-RR is priced at INR 66,664 while the Unicorn 150 comes with a tag of INR 69,305. All prices for the bikes are ex-showroom Delhi and may vary with the variant selected.
