BMW Motorrad recently entered India with an extensive lineup that has 10 different models that make up 24 variants in the company list. The lineup starts with BMW R1200 R Standard at INR 14.90 lakh while goes up to the mighty K1600 GTL Pro for INR 28.50 lakh. All these prices are ex-showroom and brings a lot of competition to brands like Ducati and Triumph. The best part for BMW bikes is their ultra refined twin, four and six cylinder engine options. The range of bikes include street fighter, semi faired, super sport, adventure and touring versions based on these three engines.

BMW R1200 R is powered by a 1170 cc, twin cylinder engine producing 125 HP at 7750 rpm and 125 Nm at 6500 rpm. The motorcycle weighs 231 kg and carries an impressive 18 liter fuel tank. The relaxed riding nature of the motorcycle makes it good for anytime driving. On the other hand, the other naked option, S1000 R is using a 999 cc, 4-cylinder engine producing 165 HP at 11,000 rpm and 114 Nm at 9250 rpm. It is meant for those who love riding at high speeds and prefer higher rpm's. Apart from these two types, BMW even offers these two engines in touring and adventure bikes.

The flagship K1600 GTL comes with a 6-cylinder, 1649 cc engine producing 160 HP at 7750 rpm and 175 Nm at 5250 rpm. It comes with a premium rear seat and weighs 348 kg. The motorcycle undercuts most others (Harley Davidson/Indian) with these features by around INR 10 lakh. BMW S1000 RR is the most powerful motorcycle in the lineup, carrying a powerful 999 cc engine that is good for 199 HP and 113 Nm of torque. It rivals all other liter class bikes like Kawasaki Ninja ZX-10R, Honda CBR1000RR, Suzuki GSX-R1000, Yamaha YZF-R1, Aprilia RSV4 and MV Agusta F4 in India.
