Google recently announced the ‘Nexus 5’ Android smartphone for the Indian market. It has been priced very aggressively and comes equipped with latest Android firmware and hardware.
Google Nexus 5 is powered by a quad-core 2.3 GHz Krait 400 processor with 2GB of RAM. The graphic processing unit (GPU) of the phone is 450 MHz Adreno 330. Nexus 5 is 4G ready and you also have an option of wireless charging like some of the Nokia Lumia smartphones.
The screen size of Nexus 5 is 4.95-inch with full HD resolution of 1920x1080 pixels, 16 million colors and pixel per inch density of 445ppi. The primary camera of the phone is 8MP with a resolution of 3264x2448 pixels. You can record full HD videos at 30 frames per second. The secondary camera is 1.3MP and some of the key camera features are: optical image stabilisation, 360 immersive view and HRD+ mode.
The connectivity options are: Class 12 GPRS, Class 12 EDGE, WLAN, NFC, Bluetooth v4.0 with A2DP and USB v2.0. The phone has been priced very competitively at INR 28,999 for 16GB model and INR 32,999 for the 32GB model.
Nexus 5 comes equipped with some useful sensors like ambient light sensor, gyro, compass, proximity sensor, barometer and accelerometer. The messaging options on this smartphone include SMS, MMS, Email, Push Mail, Instant messaging and RSS.
The dimensions of the phone are: 137.84mm(H) x 69.17mm (W) x 8.59mm(T) and it weighs 130 grams. Nexus 5 is available in 2 shades: White and Black. Some of phone accessories on offer are: Bumper case (available in 4 shades) and QuickCover (available in 2 shades).
On the whole, Google Nexus 5 is a very good buy and a complete value for money Android smartphone.
