Aishwarya Rai is a well known Indian film actress and model who was born on 1 November, 1973 in Mangalore to a Bunt family. Rai did her schooling and graduation from Mumbai and also got training in classical dance and music in her teen age. Later, she started her modelling career and won a supermodel contest in 1991.

She stood by modelling until she got a chance to become an actress. Meanwhile, she was the first runner-up of 'Miss India' pageant and was crowned with the 'Miss World' pageant in 1994. Rai married actor Abhishek Bachchan in the year 2007 and has a daughter named Aradhaya.
