DC Avanti was the first of its kind product for India. It will soon get a rival named TaMo RaceMo from Tata Motors. DC Avanti is a full sized two seat sports car the comes with a 1998cc, 4-cylinder turbocharged petrol motor producing 250 BHP at 5500 rpm and 340 Nm while the RaceMo uses a turbocharged 1.2 liter, three cylinder motor producing 190 HP at 6500 rpm and 210 Nm at 2500 rpm. The thing that makes both of them special is the 0-100 kmph sprint time, claimed to be under 6 seconds for both of them. The large difference between their weight makes them comparable to each other in performance.
Avanti measures 4565 mm in length, 1965 mm in width and 1200 in height. The large wheel size of 295/30R20 makes it look huge in front of the RaceMo. TaMo has equipped their first product with basic safety features like dual front airbags while DC Avanti surprisingly misses out on the same. RaceMo measures 3835 mm in length, 1810 mm in width and 1208 mm in height. Both the cars are offered with all wheel disc brakes and double wishbone suspension for both the ends. DC has priced the Avanti at INR 36.80 lakh while Tata may price TAMO RaceMo at INR 25 lakh.
