Maruti Suzuki Ciaz vs. 2018 Honda City

2018 Honda City is actually the facelift variant for the older variant, carrying updated feature list like full LED headlamp, new machine finished alloy wheels and updated bumpers. Honda played safe with the engines and kept the same 1.5 liter petrol and diesel motor for their best selling product.

Honda City diesel produces a max of 100 PS and 200 Nm of torque while its engine comes mated to a 6-speed manual gearbox. The petrol model is more powerful, claiming 119 PS and 145 Nm of torque.

The key rival for the new sedan is Maruti Ciaz and both are actually one of the closest rivals that could be found in the Indian automobile market. Ciaz is powered by a 1248 cc, 4-cylinder diesel motor that is good for 90 PS and 200 Nm of torque.

The engine comes mated to a 5-speed manual gearbox and comes with SHVS for fuel saving. The petrol version comes without SHVS and offers 5-speed manual and 4-speed AT gearbox option. Ciaz is 50 mm longer, 35 mm wider, 10 mm lower and carries a 50 mm longer wheelbase than the Honda City.
