Hyundai Verna is undoubtedly the performance king of its segment. Carrying two powerful 1.6L petrol and diesel engine, the car is actually good for every rupee spent over any of its variant.

Hyundai’s 1.6L, 4-cylinder turbo diesel engine is the most powerful option available at this price, presenting 128 BHP at 4000 rpm and almost 260 Nm of torque at 1500-3000 rpm. It feels more of a gem with 6-speed automatic gearbox on offer.

The presence further gets enhanced with silently powerful 1.6L VVT engine producing 123 BHP at 6400 rpm and 151 Nm at 4850 rpm. Honda City, on the other hand, feels quite expensive in front of segment rivals like Ciaz and Verna.

When compared with Verna, it is 34 mm narrower and 20 mm higher in external dimensions. The fuel tank is smaller and automatic is only available on petrol variants on Honda City. This makes Hyundai Verna a better option over Honda City in terms of value for money approach in above 4 meter sedan segment.
