Jeep Compass was recently launched in India starting from INR 14.95 lakh, the post-GST cess hike price is INR 15.16 lakh for the base model. Nothing less than a revolution for premium SUV lovers, the range extends to INR 21.37 lakh and brings terrain management, riding modes and 4x4 into action. Placement of Jeep was such exclusive that cars ranging between INR 8-25 lakh are all competing with the newcomer at most benchmarks.

Renault Duster, Hyundai Creta and Nissan Terrano are three such cars that nobody will miss while comparing Jeep Compass for its value. Duster starts at INR 8.42 lakh while Terrano starts at INR 9.99 lakh. As both of them are offered with highly equipped variants, the top spec Duster and Terrano cost INR 13.66 lakh and INR 14.32 lakh respectively.

One could compare them with base Jeep Compass as the niche American brand has added a lot more features than standard on its base variant. Hyundai Creta is the highest selling car of its segment and even has some basic design similarities with Jeep Compass. Those willing to go for top spec Creta can even think about getting Compass in Longitude trim.

Hyundai Tucson is another potential rival as buyers planning for any of the variant would feel delighted to get a Jeep with better configuration and lower price tag. Tucson starts from the highest point at INR 18.78 lakh and even ends at the highest point (INR 24.71 lakh). Apart from these four options that carry 5-seats, Compass rivals four other products from the seven seat segment.

These are Mahindra Scorpio, XUV 500, Tata Safari Storme and Hexa. All of them are equipped with 4x4 in their top spec variant and carry engines that are larger than 2000cc in capacity. Mahindra Scorpio is the least expensive option at INR 9.93 lakh while XUV500 comes to be the most expensive one with INR 12.65 lakh of starting price tag.

Still, their top spec variants are priced between INR 15.56 lakh to INR 17.67 lakh. XUV500 is the most-expensive 7-seat diesel SUV at INR 17.67 lakh for its top spec variant. Jeep Compass carries an impressive turbocharged petrol motor whose performance stays unmatched with all the rivals in this segment.
