New Toyota Fortuner is clearly Toyota's best premium offering in the SUV segment. Fortuner enjoys an almost undisputed position given it's statistics and features. Toyota Fortuner has a displacement of 2755cc in the diesel variant and 2694cc in the petrol variant. It is grand and has a good style quotient. The diesel variant engine in this SUV produces a power of 177 PS @ 3400 rpm with a maximum torque of 420 Nm. While the petrol variant generates166 PS power @ 5200 rpm with a torque of 245 Nm @ 4000 rpm. Fortuner comes loaded with a 5 speed manual gearbox for the Petrol variant and 6 speed manual gearbox for the Diesel variant.
Toyota also offers Automatic 6 speed transmission for both Diesel and Petrol versions. It has a ground clearance of 225 mm. The New Toyota Fortuner comes with a 80 litres fuel tank. Apart from styling, this model has a lot of promise even when it comes to comfort. It offers Automatic climate control system and Key-less entry as a feature. The SUV comes with 7 airbags and traction control. Hill start assist control is also an attractive add-on to Fortuner. When it comes to infotainment, then too this SUV does not disappoint. It comes with touch screen music system, USB + AUX compatibility, GPS Navigation, MP3/DVD compatibility and FM Radio.
Toyota Fortuner can be fetched at a starting price of INR 27.27 lakh for the Petrol and 29.28 lakh for the Diesel variant. Toyota Fortuner lies in direct competition with Ford Endeavour and Hyundai Santa Fe. Although the prices in the competition may differ but it is not a deciding factor in the high end SUV segment.
