BMW has finally launched the much-awaited M-series cars ‘M3 Sedan’ and ‘M4 Coupe’ in India on 27th November. The cars are powered by a 6-cylinder in-line engine, which generates maximum power of 425 BHP at 5500 rpm and maximum torque of 550 NM at 1850 rpm. There is single transmission option for India: 7-speed M double clutch automatic transmission.
The performance figures of M3 Sedan and M4 Coupe are almost same. They can cross 0-100 kmph mark in 4.1 seconds and the electronically limited top speed is 250 kmph. The efficiency and emission figures are 12.0km/litre and 194g/km respectively. The power steering and suspension system has three modes: Comfort, Sport and Sport+.
The cars are equipped with M carbon ceramic disc brakes, lightweight carbon-fibre roof, adaptive M suspension, active M differential, dynamic stability control, M dynamic mode, M circular instrument panel with white graphics, M leather steering wheel and bucket seats formed off a single piece. The weight of BMW M3 Sedan is 1595 kg and BMW M4 Coupe weighs 1572 kg.
