The Maybach 62, together with Maybach 57, was the first-ever automobile models from the Maybach brand since the DaimlerChrysler AG, also now called as Daimler AG, was revived. The two i.e. 62 and 57 were derived from the German luxury auto maker Mercedes-Benz Maybach’s concept car launched to the public during the Tokyo Motor Show in 1997. The former Maybach car model was based on the S-Class sedan by Mercedes-Benz just like the other eventual production car models. In addition to that, the Maybach car was also voted in the year 2008 as the Luxury Brand Status Index top notcher. The Maybach brand was hailed first place and bested its top luxury auto market competitors namely Rolls-Royce and Bentley. However, these car models are set to cease their production in the market by the year 2013. The stop in production is attributed to the financial losses and poor sales, as other luxury companies steal the auto limelight.
