A moment of relief for Yamaha fans in Europe, the YZF-R6 would not be discontinued. The strict implementation of Euro-4 emission norms would require some changes in the power-train of the existing bikes, which Honda could not afford due to very low sales for the CBR600RR.
Yamaha thinks the other way and wish to continue the production of the middleweight racer. Not just that, the motorcycle is expected to get a 2017 version. The latest rendering of the same makes it look more like the liter class flagship racer, with news following the change in engine performance and increased power from 123 HP to 130 HP.
It will even get lighter body parts, thus helping the bike boost its performance. The rendered image was found on the internet without a confirmed source. It looks really good as the bike uses a pair of LED lights, sharp front fairing and nicely finished tail section. The White and Red combination looks unmerciful on the bike.
