Adam Gilchrist is a former Australian cricketer and his full name is Adam Craig Gilchrist. He was born in November 14, 1971 in Bellingen, New South Wales, Australia. He has done his secondary education from Deniliquin South Public School and Kadina High School. Gilchrist got married Melinda Gilchrist and couple had three children. Adam Gilchrist is left-handed Batsman and wicket-keeper and he is the only cricketer to have hit 100 sixes in Test cricket. In 1992-93 season he was selected for his first match for South Whales and played as a Batsman and he totally scored 274 runs. He started his international debut career in 1996 against South Africa at Faridabad on 25th October in Australian One Day International team. He made his first ODI half century in Durban. In August 1999 he won his first world Cup match against Sri Lanka in the final of 'Aiwa Cup'. In 2007 – 2008 series of fourth and final test which was played against India on 26th January, 2008 he decided to take retirement from International Cricket. After his retirement from International cricket he signed a contract with Hyderabad based 'Deccan Chargers' for IPL in 2008. Later on in fourth season of IPL he signed a contract with 'Kings XI' Punjab and he was selected as the captain on 'Kings XI' Punjab.
