Tata Nano is a mini car, manufactured by Tata Motors since March, 2009. The Nano is the cheapest car in the world today. In 2006, Tata Motors decided to manufacture the Nano cars at Singur in West Bengal, but due to protest by local farmers, its launch was delayed and the manufacturing site was shifted to Gujarat. In 2012, Nano was upgraded and some changes have been introduced. Tata Nano is equipped with powerful petrol engine of 624 cc. Its power has been increased from 35 PS to 38 PS, along with 51 Nm of torque, which was 48 Nm in the previous model. The new Tata Nano has the lowest carbon dioxide emission compared to other cars in Indian market. The 2012 LX version of Nano comes with power windows in front, air conditioning and central locking features. Tata claims to have improved the fuel efficiency of the Nano to 25kmpl.
