Student of the year is an upcoming film directed by Karan Johar which is going to be released on 19th October, 2012. Many newcomers will be featuring in the film in the lead roles, such as, Alia Bhatt, Varun Dhawan and Siddharth Malhotra. The film also features, Kayoze Irani, Rishi Kapoor, Ronit Roy, Kitu Gidwani, Ram Kapoor, Gautami Gadgil Kapoor etc. Shahrukh Khan and Kajol will also be in special appearance in the film. On 16 August 2011, the Mahurat shot of the film was taken by Karan Johar in the presence of socialite, Parmeshwar Godrej. The music director of the film is Vishal-Shekhar.
