Sonu Nigam is an Indian Singer who has sung in many languages including Hindi, Kannada, Punjabi, Marathi, Assamese etc. He has acted in few films and has released numerous Indipop albums. He was born on 30 July 1973, in Faridabad, Haryana, to Agam Nigam and Shobha Nigam. He began his singing career in Mumbai, when he was 19. He was trained by Ustad Ghulam Mustafa Khan. He struggled in his early days and began to sing for “Rafi Ki Yaadein”, the albums released by T-Series. Janam (1990) was the first movie, for him as a playback singer. Sonu released many pop albums in Punjabi, Oriya, Kannada and Hindi. He hosted the 'Sa Re Ga Ma show till 1999. He appeared as a child artist in 'Betaab' (1983). He also sang in Malayalam. His debut song in this language was 'Aaye Janani' in Kandahar (2010). In 2006, he hosted 'Life Ki Dhun' on 91.1 Radio Mirchi FM. He also gave his voice for two animated films, Rio and Disney's Aladdin.
