Sharmila Tagore is an award-winning film actress. She was born on December 8, 1944 in Hyderabad, India. She was selected as UNICEF Goodwill Ambassador in 2005. In 2013, Sharmila Tagore was honoured with Padma Bhushan award by the Govt of India. She studied at Loreto Convent, Asansol and St. John's Diocesan Girls' Higher Secondary School, Kolkata. She got married to popular cricketer Late Mansoor Ali Khan Pataudi on December 27, 1969. The couple have 3 children, Soha Ali Khan, a film actress and Television personality, Saba Ali Khan, and Saif Ali Khan, a Bollywood actor. She started her film carrier in 1959 with a Bengali film 'Apur Sansar' which was directed by noted filmmaker Satyajit Ray. She came into lime light with a famous movie, 'Kashmir Ki Kali' (1964) opposite Shammi Kapoor. She has earned Filmfare awards and National Film Awards for her outstanding performances.
