Samantha Ruth Prabhu was born on 28 April 1987 to Malayali and Telugu parents. She is an Indian film actress and model who appears in Telugu and Tamil films. She was brought up in Chennai and pursued a career in modeling during her late teens. She did her schooling from Holy Angels Anglo-Indian Higher Secondary School, T. Nagar. She graduated with a commerce degree from Stella Maris College in Chennai. She made her acting debut with Telugu romance film Ye Maaya Chesave directed by Indira Productions' Gautham Menon. She has also worked on more than half-a-dozen projects.
