Royal Enfield Bikes were originally manufactured by Enfield Manufacturing Company founded in 1893 in U.K. In India, Royal Enfield Bikes are being manufactured and sold from the year 1949. In 1955, motorcycles were required for patrolling the country's border and The Bullet was chosen as the most suitable bike for the job by the Indian government. In 1955, Madras Motors in partnership with Redditch company started to assemble 350 cc Royal Enfield Bullet in Madras which were also subsequently exported to Europe, America and Australia. The latest models of Royal Enfield Bikes are Classic 500, Classic 350 and Classic Chrome.
