Namitha is an Indian actress, who has appeared mainly in South Indian movies and very few Hindi movies. She became Miss Surat in 1998. She was also a contestant in the 2001 Miss India pageant. She appeared in a number of TV commercials. She made her acting debut in the Telugu film in 2002, Sontham opposite to Aaryan Rajesh and then appeared in Tamil film 'Aai'. She has acted in over 40 South Indian films in her career. She has also acted in the Hindi film, Love Ke Chakkar Mein in 2006. On 26 October 2010, one of her fans attempted to kidnap her in Tamil Nadu. Namitha has been an advocate of safe driving and in June 2012, she alongwith Tamil actor Bharat promoted awareness of safe driving.
