Mahendra Singh Dhoni is an Indian cricketer and the current captain of the Indian cricket team and Chennai Super Kings. He was born on 7 July 1981 in Ranchi, Bihar, India. He made ODI debut in December 2004 against Bangladesh, and a year later played his first Test, which was against Sri Lanka. Under his captaincy Indian won 2007 ICC World Twenty20, the Border-Gavaskar Trophy in 2008 and 2010 and 2011 World Cup. India became the first team to whitewash Australia in a Test series after a gap of more than 20 years under his captaincy. Dhoni has received several awards including ICC ODI Player of the Year in 2008 and 2009, Rajiv Gandhi Khel Ratna award and the Padma Shri, India's fourth highest civilian honor in 2009. He is 31st richest sportsman with estimated earnings of USD 26.5 million. He was awarded as the man of the match for hitting 91 not out of just 79 balls in 2011 Cricket World Cup, which Indian won.
