Madhuri Dixit is an Indian film actress. She was born as 'Madhuri Shankar Dixit' to 'Snehlata' and 'Shankar Dixit', on May 15, 1967 in Mumbai, India. She did her schooling from 'Divine Child High School' and completed her higher studies in microbiology from 'Mumbai University'. She is also a trained Kathak dancer. Madhuri made her acting debut through Bollywood film 'Abodh' in 1984, but earn recognition with film 'Tezaab' in 1988. She done many films after that, some of her hit films includes 'Tridev', 'Parinda', 'Saajan', 'Ram Lakhan', 'Dil', 'Khalnayak', 'Raja', 'Hum Apke Hai Koun..!', 'Beta', 'Dil To Pagal Hai', 'Mrityudand', 'Lajja', 'Devdas' and 'Pukar'. In 2002, she took rest from work after her marriage and then made a comback in 2007, with musical TV show 'Aaja Nachle' and she also appeared as a judge in two seasons of 'Jhalak Dikhla jaa'. Alongside films, Madhuri is always active in Social Affairs. She donated her price money of 50, 00,000 from 'Kaun Banega Crorepati' for the welfare of Gujarat's earthquake victims. She was the part of India's first-ever nationwide campaign to save the environment. She is a Goodwill Ambassador for 'Emeralds for Elephants'. Madhuri Dixit is married 'Shriram Madhav Nene' a UCLA- trained cardiovascular surgeon. Couple have two sons - Raayan and Arin. After marriage they have settled in Denver, where her husband practiced as a surgeon. In 2011, Madhuri and her family again shifted to Mumbai.
