Lara Dutta: About

Lara Dutta is an Indian actress and UNFPA Goodwill Ambassador. Born in 1978 in Uttar Pradesh, she was born to a family of achievers. She joined and won the Gladrags modeling competition and became the representative of India in Miss Intercontinental in 2007. Then Lara Dutta was hailed as Femina Miss India Universe. In the year 2000 she was India’s representative to the Miss Universe competition in Cyprus. There she received the highest marks in the swimsuit competition and the final interview, making her the second Indian to win the Miss Universe crown. After winning, she was then appointed as the UNFPA Goodwill Ambassador. Upon returning to India, she ventured into acting. She was cast in the Tamil movie Arasatchi, which was released in 2004. Her 2003 Hindi film Andaaz gave her the Filmfare Best Female Debut Award.
