Asin Thottumkal (26 October 1986), born in Kerala is an Indian Bollywood actress who appears in Hindi, Tamil and Telugu films. Asin made her acting debut with Malayalam film Narendran Makan Jayakanthan Vaka (2001). Asin’s first commercial success was Telugu film Amma Nanna O Tamila Ammayi in 2003, which bagged her Film Fare Best Telugu Actress Award. She made her acting debut in Tamil cinema with M. Kumaran S/O Mahalakshmi (2004), which bagged her yet another Film Fare Award. Asin made her acting debut in Bollywood with Ghajini (2008), a remake of Tamil film of the same name opposite Aamir Khan for which she won Film Fare Best Debut Actress Award. Since then, Asin has appeared in many commercial hits like Ready, Housefull and Bol Bachchan. In a short span of time, Asin has established herself as a leading contemporary actress of Indian cinema.
