Govinda: About

Govinda was born on 21 December, 1963 in Virar, Mumbai. He is known as a comedian actor who has given so many comedy hits with Kader Khan. Govinda has entered in politics as a parliament member of Indian National Congress. He has acted in more than 120 Hindi films. In the beginning of his career, he gained popularity because of his dancing but latter his popularity was adorned with his comedian skills. After passing graduation from commerce background, he tried to join as a steward at Taj Mahal hotel but was rejected due to his less capability in English Speaking. Then his father told him to join in Film industry and there he gained success. Amongst his hits, Aankhen; Coolie no. 1; Jodi no.1, Haseena Maan Jaayegi and Partner are noteworthy. He has won so many film awards including Filmfare Awards for both best actor and as in a comic role, Star Screen Award, Lux Zee Cine Awards, IIFA Best Comedian Award for so many times.
