Having being a reproductive structure found in flowering plants, a flower is sometimes known as a blossom or bloom. Flowers have long been admired and used by humans to beautify their environment in addition to facilitating the reproduction of flowering plants. They are also used as objects of romance, religion and medicine among many other uses. Many flowers are attractive to animals and insects hence causing them to be vectors for the transfer of pollen. Bearing structures that are highly modified leaves, a flower is a modified stem tip with compressed internodes. Most flowers give rise to fruit and seeds in addition to some of them giving pleasant smells.
