Emraan Hashmi is an Indian actor. He was born on 24 March 1979. At the age of 18, he entered Bollywood as an assistant director on Raaz. He made his film debut in 2003 with the film Footpath, opposite to Aftab Shivdasani, Bipasha Basu and Rahul Dev which did not do well at the box office. In 2004, he and his co-star Mallika Sherawat shot to fame with the thriller Murder. This film became a super hit at the box office. In 2005, Hashmi appeared in several films such as Zeher, Kalyug which received a moderate response at the box office. He became famous as the 'Serial Kisser' for his sex scenes in films. In 2006, his film Gangster, opposite to Shiney Ahuja and debutant Kangana Ranaut, was a semi-hit at the box office. His received a nomination for the Filmfare Award for Best Performance in a Negative Role in 2007 for this movie.
