Agra is the capital of Hindustan, a district utter Pradesh state in India. Its history dates back to the year 1505. Agra was founded by the Sultan Sikandar Lodi, under the Mughal dynasty. Then, it was known as Akbarabad and was the capital of this powerful dynasty. The natural landscapes and manmade relaxation gardens gives this city a glow of beauty. However this did not start yesterday. The ancient founder of the Mughal dynasty established the first formal Persian Garden and named it Aram Bagh, translating to ‘the garden of relaxation’. His successor Jahangir (a son of his), also had a great heart with a love for flora and fauna and although some of his establishments did not get to the 21st century, it is evident that these great ancient rulers played a great role in building the image of Agra as we know it today.
